Dave es un diseñador tipográfico Inglés que alrededor de 2006 decidió liberar los tipos!
Desde entonces, ha estado estudiando y trabajando para perseguir el sueño de una cultura libre en la comunicación visual.
Él ha encargado cientos de tipos de letra en los diseñadores de todo el mundo. Creó la tipografía "Cantarell", durante los dos años que estuvo estudiando en el Departamento de Tipografía en la Universidad de Reading (Reino Unido, 2009). Es un sans serif humanista contemporánea que se incluyó en el lanzamiento de Google Fonts que fue elegida como la fuente de interfaz de usuario por defecto para GNOME 3.
Él es actualmente "Font Consultor" en Google Fonts y es instructor del equipo Crafting Type.

Our choice of words to express the ideas in our minds is as important as our typographic choices that express the emotions in our hearts. Billions of people are now online and each person need fonts that are tailor-made for themselves and their businesses. Libre fonts can fulfil this need, but we need good tools to turn our freedom from an abstract ideal into a reality.
